| Alka is a qualified hatha yoga teacher. She completed her training in 2003 in the Academy of Yoga Institute in Santa Cruz Mumbai. She trained in the oldest school of yoga where she was taught Philosophy, Pranayams (Breath control), Meditation and Asanas (Yoga postures).
She was inspired by her Uncle in India (Mr Malhotra) who now is in his eighties and still practices yoga to date.
She is currently enrolled in the Iyengar yoga teacher-training program with Ruth White where she travels to various parts of the country for her training program.
Alka has a lot of enthusiasm for the practice and enjoys teaching students from all walks of life.
She is currently teaching young children in St Bernard's school and teenagers in Slough Grammar School, which she gains thorough satisfaction in seeing the wonderful development of the students.
She also teaches adult classes around Slough in community Halls and churches in a warm and friendly environment.
She is dedicated to continuing her education in the teachings of Iyengar yoga as well as helping students to have a strong, healthy balanced body and mind.

I find Yoga very relaxing and it has been very beneficial to a lower back problem. I also find Alka puts you at ease and does not push you too much when you can't do a certain position.
Anne
I enjoy Alka’s yoga because the balance into one-hour classes is divided into postures, breathing and relaxation, which improve our movement and stamina.
